Hey all,
Well, if you've seen my last two posts, I've been having transmission woes since putting in my ACT 2600. First off, I lost my 3rd and 4th gear. Second, I was having MAJOR trouble getting the clutch to engage further off the floor. Well, I got the second problem knocked out, but the first one is still yet to be fixed. In fact tonight, it just got really f*ckin' weird.
I decided that because I could now shift bewteen my remaining 3 gears decently, I would try to drive my car for a few miles and see if I could manage driving it between my house and work in its present condition. Well, then I started playing with the lost 3rd and 4th gear. All of a sudden, after a little bit of maneuvering, I managed to get the car into 3rd!!! HOLY SH!T!!!! I decided to play a bit with 4th gear, and I found it too!!! Here's the deal though; it's not like regular shifting. I am LITERALLY spending a good 15 seconds trying to find 3 and 4, which are apparently still there, but at the same time, not.
WHY IS MY TRANSMISSION DOING THIS!?!?!? HOW DO I FIX THIS!?!?!? I am a motor person; to me, the transmission is the Devil's device. When I originally "lost" 3 and 4, I called Shep and he told me I might have dropped a roll pin ((whatever the hell that is)). Am I picking the roll pin back up? What the f*ck is going on? Please, somebody help me make sense of this. I can only tell that it is either in the transmission or in the linkage somewhere, but those gears are there, I just want to be able to use them. I have a spare transmission sitting at the foot of my bed; I'd love to sell it and get some cash, so someone help me figure out what the hell is going on.
Thanks for all the help guys,
Greg Heineken
