when i do these mods that are in the tunning guide will i be able to take on a stock 02 mustang gt. there is a guy that i work with and he want to race me.. now i do plan on a turbo but it will be awhile for it

Without spending an insane amount on an all motor setup, or a couple grand on a turbo kit the ONLY way would be with N2O.

With minor bolt-ons you don't really stand a chance. Sorry, we are slow without the above mentioned.

Even with all those mods mentioned in the tuning guide, a stock mustang Gt would still rape you, unless you put mass amounts of cash into your car.like onepimpeclipse said, get n2O then you may put up a fight... Not to bench race or anything but a mustang GT is puttin out 260 Hp and 302 lbs of torque in a V8, we have a 140 hp and 130 lbs of torque in a 2.0 4 cylinder, so just compare that for yourself.

well i ran a gt, not the 02's generation, but the gen right before that. I won, then i gave him the old "u said that was a v8 right? might want to cehck out one of the cylinders cuz all four of mine are working ".

EDIT: I might want to add, yes i kno the kid, yes he is a douchebag . Na for real he is an asshole & im glad i got to beat him, but with that said he is prolly a shit driver, i wouldnt doubt it.

i have a cat back exaust, intake plugs and wires and i cant even beat a ford windstar... i can only beat lightly modded crxs and the older style non vtec integras, the older cavaliers and thats about it... some of the older saturns too

I've drove a 2000 Mustang GT, they aren't what you think. You will be ok until the middle of 3rd gear, then your toast. I've raced a 98 GT, and his engine is in good working order, and I stayed right with him. Mustang GT's are ####ies. Now the Cobra on the other hand is a differant story. I'm not saying your NT will beat a GT, but you shouldn't get whomped on. I have a 2000 V6 mustang, and our NT's with a CB and CAI can stay right with them. I'm hoping to trade my Stang in for a Convertable GT next year, but only cause it can turn sideways real easy

He would rape you even with a turbo kit. 99+ GTs are NOT slow. They can run 13.7 with powershifting. Even a so-so driver can get 14.40s... Do you guys really think you're running that fast?

Just to prove I'm credible, I drive a 5-spd 2001 GT about once a week.

Sorry man, there is NO WAY a stock mustang GT can run a 13.7. Maybe at a track at low altitude, 60 degrees, perfect track, and the wind at its back. Even then I don't think it could do it. Mustang GT's have terrible hook up. If you throw some slicks on the back, maybe...maybe. I love the Mustang GT, but in its stock form it can't run a 13.7.

They DO run high 13s with a good driver. Most can't pull that and end up putting out a low 14.

NO F-ING WAY! a stock gt will not run a high 13, you are telling me then that the wrx gets owned by a stock gt...cough bs cough....you are also telling me that it would hang well with an evo which i will not beleive.

everyone who's pushing the mustang gt thing, go test drive one. Then go test drive a corvette, or a evo 8. Those both break the 13 in the 1/4. You will know how fast the Mustang GT is after that.
