Alternator upgrades?

ok so i was driving my eclipse back from my gfs dorm room and it started spuddering on the freeway pulled off the nearest exit then my car died popped the clutch made it 15 more feet and sat there for an hour till my dad got there with jumper cables jumped it and stayed running for maybe 30 secs b4 dying...


so my question is is there any stock alternators from any other cars that will bolt right up to the stock 2g n/t eclipse? if so what are they?

The Saturn alternator swap is for the 4g63 engine. Replacements are already 90 amps. The stock 4g63 alternator is only 75 amps, which is why people swap it out.

isn't that for the 1g engine tho, and as for the Alterstart High Output 150A alternator i don't have that kind of money right now so i was looking for a OEM alternator to swap in that was a higher amp one then the OEM eclipse one

Please don't disburse advice related to the 4G63 in the 420A forums. The Saturn alternator swap is unrelated to the 420A.

To my knowledge, no one has found a suitable replacement from another application.

I've found the best alternator for your money is a brand new unit from NAPA. They cost about $220. The cheaper ones are re-manufactured, and from my experience, fail after about a year. The same goes for re-manufactured ones from Advance, AutoZone, etc.

I have seen high output alternaters ,direct bolt on ,for around 200.oo$,on ebay just incase you mite want to check it out.....

yeah ive been looking on ebay but i dont wanna spend 200+ for a alternator i think i found one that will fit my needs for now ### im not sure if ima keep my eclipse much longer but here is the link tell me what u guys think?
