I took my '95 Tsi AWD in for a check up the other day because of my engine light flashes on here and there. When the light flashes, the engine wants to stall and starts losing power and shakes. And when that happens, if I turn off the engine and restart it back up everything would run normally, just with the "Check Engine" light on. The only thing that I was told was that the engine has mulitple misfires.

The misfires happens at around 70-75 mph on the freeway, I can't go faster than that. I've already replaced the spark plugs and the spark plug wires. Thought that'd solve the problem, it didn't. Anyone with any idea of what might be causing the misfire at the high rate of speed in my car, please let me know. Thanks.

From what you're describing, I'd look into the coil and see if that solves it, but pulling up that trouble code on the CEL is the first thing I'd try.

Good luck and keep us posted.

I've tested the coils. I've started my car, let it idle and pull each spark plug wire out and see if it produces any sparks, it does. I've just recently bought the car and not sure if the guy before me did anything to it. Now, the only thing that I haven't done anything to it is the fuel system. Seems like the fuel filter is really old and havent been replaced.

Oh, another thing is the guy also did a motor swap. He swapped a 92 motor into the 95 body. And there are many loose and unattached terminal and wires hanging around. I don't know if that will cause anything or change anything with the older motor into a newer body.
