Today I was at Ivey and was getting my car tuned. It had a base tune on there from a friend that had a similar setup. I was running about 28psi. Today I took that car to get officially tuned. It will hit 30psi but then it just keeps going past that. I know anything after 30psi isn't safe on pump gas. Before the tune it was just running on the Wastegate which is a Tial 41mm. Has a costume welded flange on the on the down pipe. Now the car just will boost creep like crazy. There is a boost cut off at 30psi, but what i don't understand is that when it was running on just the wastegate there was never that problem. And during the tune it was hooked up to a manual boost control. After the tune i drove the car and it was still running into that problem. So I switch it back to running on just the wastegate and now it will still boost creeps like crazy. I was thinking either 1) porting where the wastegate meets the manifold, and 2) Taking off my wastegate dump and seeing if maybe the bend on that is cause bad air flow. And or maybe the Exhaust side of the turbo is to small? Also while this was happening the car just started spraying coolant everywhere. The only place where I could figure a leak was coming from was out of the stock radiator car. Maybe the spring inside the cap isn't strong enough? Anyone that could help me, It would be much appreciated.

The setup of my turbo is a holset hx40, tial 41mm wastegate. any other other info need just let me know. Also the motor is a 4g63

Thanks Stefan.

Yes I have the ARP head studs. With a blown head gasket the car would be smoking also and that is not the case. I know for the radiator I am using the stock cap which is 13lbs I believe, The spring does feel soft. I was thinking of replacing that also with a higher lb. And the car is running a stock HG.

Your external dump tube should be ok, even with a bend in it like you were saying.

Is your car leaking coolant from anywhere? If it wasn't your cap I would suspect a blown line.

If it wasn't creeping BEFORE the MBC and it creeps NOW even after taking the MBC off, I would guess something is strange with your wastegate possibly.

Thanks for the information. The coolant lines looked to be ok. I am going to be doing a compression test this weekend. I am having a feeling that I might have a blown HG. So If that's the case i will be doing the MLS HG and new studs as well. I believe they are called ls11 studs or something like that. That are supposed to be better than the ARP and also they will never expand and they are reusable.

The ARP you have now are reuseable also you just have to make sure they didn't stretch! The higher ones are L19's plus the cost $409 from MA . I think its strange you are creeping with a 41mm humm going to have to get back to you on this one.:hmm:

I rather spend the extra money on the L19's because they will not stretch. Also that will the MLS HG its good for very high numbers. Number that I will never be touching, but it will just re ensure the safety of everything. Also I wouldn't think I would have creep with the 41mm but changing that will be my last option. If need to I would go with the 44mm. But what I'm going to do first is port the Exhaust housing of the turbo and see where that takes me.

where is the tial 41mm located? is it on the #1 runner of the manifold? O2? if its on the manifold and only on #1 that could be why.

hers what the setup looks like, it was custom made
