Pcv VALVE

ok so I just got this 95 eclipse and was told the pcv vavlve was out ok so no problem but he told me it shot oil back into the engine well i replaced it and the spark plugs before cleaning it what should I do to clean it how should I clean it?

the oil will just burn off if it got into the cylinders...not much you can do. any oil on the outside of the engine just take off with degreaser.

Cleaning the engine or the PCV valve? I wasn't quite clear on that, but if you're cleaning the PCV valve out to reinstall, you can use spray carb cleaner. The valve works in one direction (engine -> hose) so spraying through it in that direction should clean most of the built-up gunk out of it. Spray some cleaner into the other (hose) side of it and cover it with something, then shake it so that the ball inside can lift off the seat; this will help dislodge anything else that's in there. I'll usually follow up with some cotton swabs soaked with cleaner to make sure I got everything.

It's cheap enough to just buy a replacement, but since it's such a simple part there's not much point in it unless it won't come clean & keeps sticking shut on you.
