PCV Valve rattling

took off my PCV Valve to clean it and to check that it wasn't clogged. Now, it rattles and I can see a spring or something inside it moving around. Is that normal or do I have to replace it?

P.S. I don't think it has ever been changed.

I don't think it has ever been changed.

Unless your car never saw factory service it's likely it was changed at least every 30k, I have a stack of old ones so they might have been every 15k or they may be from a couple of cars, it was a common part.

Just make sure the new one you get actually seals under boost. I've yet to find an aftermarket one that really did. Over the past few years with Mitsu not offering turbo cars the one I got from them started being hit or miss when they all used to be great. I assume the EVO uses the same part so maybe they'll raise the standard again.
