Trying to diagnose an ignition problem. Coil test fine, Spark plugs and wires test fine, Power Transistor tested bad and replaced but still having similar issue.

Original problem: Turn the key and everything would engage except the starter, no bendix engaging but clicking inside dash area. To start the car you would have to turn the key all the way on then off many times until it would finally engage. After replacing the Power Transistor the car starts as normal but on occassion, the same issue arises and you need to turn key on then off 2 or 3 times. WTF?? This is my first post but not my first go around the block. Does anyone know how to test the PCM/ECM on a 2G??

I'll most definatley check the ignition switch when my better half gets home. Duh. I'm only a few months into the DSM realm, I just assumed a computer issue since everything else was testing out fine.

I just traded my Durango for this 96 Spyder GST that had a ton of issues. I've read through this forum in conjunction with a mediocre manual and have saved tons of mony repairing it myself. FPS, MPD sensor, Power TR, and then the most invasive repair as of yet...head gasket and two broken exhaust manifold studs. This forum is a very valuable resource. :thumb:

had the same problem.. it was the ignition switch. i used one for a different year and automatic when mine was a manual. still no problems

i had the same problem with a faulty alarm system, until it wouldnt start at all. luckily it happened in front of an audio store and the guys new immediatley what to unhook.
