b shaft removal kit?

now would be a great time to relocate your battery if you were going to, and maybe take anything out that you dont want. ABS exc. what are you panning to do with this swap?

mitsubishi mls is a must , mitsu number MD 349347 , dont use stock headgaskets unless youre rollign stock.

You might want to get a external oil cooler. like the 90's have

you;d need the housing for it
http://www.machv.com/exoilcoolfil.html

get the tb gaskets too and the intake maniufold one and the exhaust manifold one and the turbo to exhaust manifodl one and the o2 to turbo one and the downpipe gasket as well, dont want to be reusing gaskets trust me.

I am basically trying to get my car up in running again. i think i have a blown head gasket and a i know i my head is cracked in the port so i just said "screw it im dropin in a new motor". i would like to hit a low 12 on this kar king engine im getting then would like to hit a low 11 with the block thats in my car now after i build it. also kar king engines come with balance shaft removal kit

make sure you get a forrester head, all the smim (sheet metal intake manifolds) may crack at the welds if pushed too hard, unless this aint your daily driver, then smim away!

i dont think im going to swap heads and have pistons put in the block but i was thinking possibly porting the stock head and stock intake manifold. this is also going to be the daily driver :thumb:

make sure to change your pcv vavle, fuel filter, thermostat and possibly the lower and upper radiator hoses (replace em before they take a shit on you).

Also does that external oil cooler mount bolt directly on? im really interested in it right now. would it also be something alot easier to install while the engine is out of the car?

I too am in the process of an engine swap/rebuild. I want to give you the heads up on the exhaust manifold studs if you havent aready replaced them. Go aftermarket because stock ones suck.

thanks for the heads up man. i already got slow boys "BLING BLING" exhaust manifold studs :thumb: they are awsome and your right the stock ones suck

Here's my list, you may not need some of this stuff, but pick and choose from what you need. I'm swapping out a blown block for a built one, and some other stuff at the same time. I think it's pretty complete, but feel free to add/change it as necessary.

Water pump
T-stat
Relocate Battery
ARP head studs
MLS head gasket
Fluidyne Radiator
SPAL fans
Radiator Hoses
Vaccuum Hoses
Throttle Body Seals
Non-cruise throttle cables
Prothane motor mounts
Clutch, PP, Flywheel, TOB
Symborski Kit
Front case, oil pump, gears, gasket
Turbo Oil Drain line
N/T Water pipe (not necessary if you're using a water-cooled turbo)
Timing Pulleys, Belts
Oil Pan bolts
Timing belt covers
Injector o-rings and clips (at least make sure you have all these, they're a cinch to install, and you don't want an injector plug to pop off)
Eliminate Emissions junk - check out Taboo's site, www.taboospeedshop.com
And when the engine's out is always a good time to clean the engine bay. Hell I may even repaint it while I'm at it.
I'm also putting on my IC and piping now

Dude you sound just like me with the exception of the fluidyne and spals. I'm rebuilding too.

Wow lots of engine rebuilds going on. I've read the above advice and am adding it to my list as I am Also rebuilding a 6 bolt. I am down to 110psi in all cylinders. Car would be gutless if it wasn't for the 20psi of boost i throw at it!!( prob why i got worn rings)hehehe. Anyway, anybody going to larger pistons, 20 thou or 30 thou????? Just wondering?

Here's the reason I'm rebuilding. :(

Balance belt > timing belt = valves owned.

if your just doing a stock rebuild man i would just go and buy a kar king motor like myself. they are shipping it to a place of business for me ( my work) for like 1400 dollars and some change

Don't forget a knock sensor while the engine is out. Much much easier than after its installed. I figured that out the hard way :p
