I noticed this today when I was driving home, but when I push the gas hard enough in 4th and 5th while cruising in town or on a low speed hwy that the car studders when its in boost for a bit. I am talking about pushing the gas and it makes a few lbs and the car will jolt like someone tapped the brakes really fast. I know know on a turbo honda its called "tip in" or partial throttle shutter but that is from not being tuned for part throttle. I dont think that it would be needed for a stock car. My 92 tsi awd 5 speed has 0 mods, it is completely stock. The car started doing this when I would give the car gas so that it would get hot enough to open the thermostat and the coolant temps would go down. But that problem is in another post. Any help would be great. I would like to keep the car but if its going to me a gremlin then I will sell it.

edit: I just read where someone else had a blown head gasket and his was kind of shuttering around 3k rpms. which is about what rpm mine is doing it. I will check the color of my fluids and see if there are any being mixed. God I hope not.

Dont sell the car because of a little problem like that. Check the easy stuff first like spark plugs.

NGK Bpr6es's or NGK bpr7es's gapped to .028

also do a boost leak test.

It seems like I have typed that answer amillion times ROFL

As Matt said make sure you have the correct spark plugs. NGK BPR6ES gapped at .028".
Make sure your coil pack is not going bad.
Also check your spark plug wires for resistance.
And run a boost leak test.

Do not think you have a bad headgasket. I doubt that is your problem.

i have the same problem which adventually flooded my car, casue i guess one of my spark pulg wires were loose or something cause i tamperd with them and then started back up and ripped on it a lil to see if it was fine an dit was.
