"...purge control solenoid valve. It controls an air connection between the evaporative emissions charcoal cannister and the intake system. The charcoal cannister is designed to absorb fuel vapours that come from the fuel tank for emissions purposes. The purge solenoid allows the ECU to connect the cannister to the engine intake - when connected, the gasoline vapours are drawn in to the engine and burned off. The solenoid is there so that the outlet from the cannister may be closed when the car is not running."

Mine started ticking and I just unplugged the stupid thing.

Whens the last time you checked/replaced your spark plugs & wires?

And i recently changed spark plugs and wires. my car has a high idle and is wasting about 100miles per tank. when i first got the car i drove it about 60miles to my house and wasted gas fine. until i started doing maitnance was when it started wasting gas. i fixed a burnt out spark plug that gave my car a misfire, wires, oilchange, coolant flush, and new fuel filter. idk what i did that affected my gas milage.

When you changed your spark plugs and wires did you make sure to put the new wires on in the correct firing order? This could be a problem if you didn't, also make sure the spark plugs are gapped at 0.28. Hope this helps
