palm 111xe help

alright well i got a palm 111xe with my talon and all the cables but it will not sync to the car and i am unable to connect it to my laptop. I went and bout a new cable with the software off dsmcables and still nothing its asking for a phone number ... any help would be great. I have searched for a month and a half now on hooking this up.

Are you using a palm cable or laptop cable as they are not interchangeable?

im using the palm cable i have 2 of them and neither are working

Well normally you hot sync to the computer to put in info/programs/save logs and the connection to the car in the car port. Are you getting any errors? What does the computer say when you try to sync? Do you get anything (readout/error) from the connection to the car? What program are you running on the palm? Need more info if you want help.

the palm already has a software on their from what i was told but i have no idea plus it will not hot sync to the car. the cables i have do not connect to my computer and ive checked best buy walmart and i do not know where else to check to find this cable i need

I'm assuming you need a serial to USB adapter for it to hook up to your computer unless you have a serial port on your PC.
Also you dont hotsync to your car, you hook it up and it should start communicating to the datalog program

EDIT: I'm running the palmIIIc, i had to buy a serial to USB adapter, install all the drivers and get the most recent palm desktop program for your computer plus a patch for it to work on older model palms.
Then i bought pocketlogger, uploaded it to the palm, hooked it to the car and ran the program, worked perfectly.

OOOOOOOO that makes sense where did you get your serial to usb? i have a serial but mine is a 16 prong and the other one is like 10 or so.

YEP! the 10 prong is for your monitor I thought the same thing.
I got mine from radioshack ($40 damn bucks), bestbuy has them too.. idk the price.
If you need help setting it up just message me, it took me 3 days to figure it all out myself .

I got the cable and it still will not hot sync to my computer its saying user does not exsit on palm desktop. where do i go from here i did all the setups and still brings me to nothing.
