DSMcrazy3 said:That isn't a fair argument. He said if they're pitted or cracked already they will need extra detailing, but if the original finish is ok, it's easy to just scuff the surface and paint.
As for the time it took you, that's abnormally long. You said you worked a couple hours a day, not many people want to do that, so as it took you a couple of weeks to do the job right, it can take someone under a day to do the same job, the same quality. They did turn out nice though.

I did all the cleaning and stuff first. Then I took sandpaper starting with 120 grit and working my way up to 400 grit. Then I took a buffer and some mothers polish and polished the sanded parts. Then I taped off the outside lip and painted the whole rim. While the paint was still wet I took a rag with paint thinner and wiped the parts I wanted polished clean. Let them dry and went back and hand polished the spokes and middle again. THat is why it took so long, but I was REALLY happy with the results. No one believes that they are stock wheels.(they did come off of a 3g car though) I love the look and I have less than 50 bucks in them.president95 said:luvmygst, your wheels are very very creative and attractive! NICE. I'd love to see a right up on how you accomplished that.
