Ok so I did the mistake of letting the wife borrow the car....to keep it short she scraped the side on a white pole now i got white paint scratches on my car...what can I use to take em off? Will a clay bar work?

^ has worked for me. Turtle wax has some progressive rubbing compounds to remove heavy scratched and other nasty looking scrapes. Usually use a heavy compound, then smooth that with a fine then regular wax.

Wax/grease remover may take it off. Safe to use on clear coat also.

I would try this before any wet sanding or buffing.

If it's just paint on top of clear, buff/wax and it should be ok. If the clearcoat is damaged, something like a touch-up pen might be a possibility. IF you do decide to use sandpaper, use 1000 grit at most, abour 1500 or 2000 grit would be better, wetsand (pour water on the area while sanding to keep the sandpaper from clogging up and keep the dust down), and do NOT go through the clearcoat otherwise might end up having to repaint the whole panel. (Obviously) would have to buff/wax after sanding.

If its just paint transfer, like the white paint is on the clear coat of your car, you can just use lacquer thinner on a rag. Otherwise a swirl remover compound and a applicator pad should get it off.

OR since it was her fault it got damaged, use her nail polish remover on a rag if you don't have lacquer thinner.

A harsh solvent like Hi-Solve or 440 will work the get the white off. However, there will probably be some scratches in the paint that would need some wet sanding and buffing to get out.
