ok so i just got my car, 1997 eclipse gst spyder, yesterday, it has 100k miles.

the guy said the cel is on due to a fuel pressure solenoid, ive searched everywhere and cant find one for this kind of car any help?
also where is it at so i can go remove it and bring it in!

It's on the firewall. Follow the vacuum line from the fuel rail and you'll see it.

Edit: check with the venders on this forum, one of them will probably have it.

Also check with miller imports, they'll have one for cheap. It will be used but will work.

thanks guys! and is there a special engine code for this problem im going to scan it today.

the guy just said it was bad, im not 100% sure of this yet

Yes, there is the OBD II code should read P1105. If you search the code in the search bar above, you will get plenty of different threads on what might be causing the problem/code to appear.

ok well i got it all figured out now, got it scanned and its the running lean code, (P0170), from what ive read you replace the upper 02 sensor? and i smell gas when im on the turbo, from the forums it all leads to 02. where is that sensor located excactly?

The upper O2 sensor is located on your "hot side" of your down pipe that runs to the end of car. The lower O2 sensor is after the catalytic converter underneath your car on the exhaust system.

is that what people call the upstream one right LOL? also where do i get a new 02 sensor, just local parts store? this stuffs hard to find on internet

yes man . upstream o2. and dont get a universal one. GO OEM. While you are there, I assume you dont have a o2 sensor socket. BUY one . Make sure its the same size as your ratchet aka 3/8 or 1/2 inch. Run your car for like 20 minutes then immediately go to break the o2 sensor loose. I HIGHLY reccomend doing it while hot and the metal is expanded. This way you wont strip the threads. Best of luck. Report back when you are done please

yeah i have 02 sensor sockets, thanks for all the help, if i can get the sensor tomorrow ill report back asap

Now if rather do it with the engine cold. Grab a cheap torch and some map gas and heat it up, that way only the part that you want hot is hot. After running for 20 min one skip with a wrench and that manifold will cook your arm

IF you can , check out the connector on the sensor it self. there are 2 kinds the auto parts stores have.1 is square and 1 is rounded. check which you have first before you buy

will do thanks!

the engine code the i deleted and now its not coming back up how long does it take to reset? i am getting the sensor anyways. napa will have the sensor for me tomorrow, its the oem one, not bosch oem replacement, i was driving it today and when i was boosting it smelled like rotton eggs in the car is this just excess gas? also does the 02 sensor really change that much performance and gas wise?

Still reading the check engine light and running lean?

You will probably get like 220 or so before wanting to fill up. That's about what I do. Not sure how big of difference there is between the gst and gsx/tsi awd gas mileage though.

will do thanks!

You might have an exhaust leak which is causing that smell.
And it should, since it won't be wasting gas by dumping more than is needed.
