I ran my codes today... again and it came back with P0170. Fuel trim malfunction bank 1? I googled it and it came back with 80% cause would be a vacuum leak. Now if so, would that cause my car to be in limp mode? Or would anything having to do with this code cause limp mode? I just want this thing fixed so I can sell it and get another 2g

A P0170 is typically caused by a shot front O2 sensor and causes a rich condition. If I remember correctly, it's not going to dump you in limp mode, but I've been away for a long time and seem to have forgotten things. :)

Anyway, do you have a way to check the voltage on the O2 sensor while the car is running? A logger is ideal, but you can probe the O2 sensor wires with a volt meter if you have to go that route.

Typically when the sensor fails, it reports a voltage of 0 to the ECU. This causes the ECU to think it's not injecting enough fuel so it increases IDC in an attempt to bring the O2 voltage back in line. Once it reaches the limits of FT adjustment, which is +/- 12% if I remember correctly, it trips the CEL and throws a P0170.

I just replaced both my front and back o2 sensors less than a week ago because I waa getting a different code from them. I cant remember which though.

You will have the worst gas mileage with that code. Like spyderyturbo007 said its the 02 sensor. Check 02 sensor, then vacuum leaks, exhaust leaks pre 02 sensor, then I would check your MAF.

You did clear the code after installing the sensors, right? If not, you'll have to complete the front O2 drive cycle before the ECU will clear the code. The easiest thing is to pull the negative terminal off the battery for a little while and reset the ECU.

I did have the code cleared and the CEL was gone for about a week and it came back with p1070

P0170*

Im guessing oem plug and play. I got it from rock auto and I unplugged the old one plugged the new one back in. My CEL went off when I was driving home today. Im so confused and I just got a multimeter for tranny codes and Im stumped as to where it plugs in.
