okay so today when i got home i went inside while it was idleing on the turbo timer, i hear the idle change so i go ouside and there was coolant everywhere and it was squeeling like a pig,.....so i let it cool down, changed the thermostat , refilled the coolant, and i started it but it doesnt want to idle.... my wideband says it is really rich ( about 10.9 ) while trying to idle..... which i would imagine why it doesnt want to idle..... maybe the head gasket went? its a Mitsu MLS with ARP's so i cant imagine that the gasket went just idleing....maybe the O2 sensor went out?....i dont know.... let me know if you can think of anything...please help me out here guys...

Did you get all the air out of your cooling system? If you don't it will cause it to idle bad and shut off. Since that seems to be the only thing you changed I would check that first. Also make sure all your couplers and pipes are tight and there are no leaks.

Whats your narrow band O2 sensor reading? Just a sanity check that your WB sensor isn't out in left field somewhere.

I would also check compression on all cylinders. If one is very low it might explain it.

My O2 sensor voltage is .015 according to my safc ,I will do a compression test tomorrow when I can get ahold of a tester,........do think the coolant temp sensor went bad?

that would be where I would start ,after the comp test, when the engine overheated, it may have fried the coolant temp sender, and now it is sending the wrong reading to the ecu.

on my Ford, when the ECT defaults, it tells the ECU that it is -40*, so it dumps mass fuel for the "thick" air

i got the codes scanned and it was the MAF sensor ! it also through a coolant temp code but after clearing it it didint come back, i changed that out before it got scanned so maybe i fixed that......ill get the MAF on tomarrow and let you know if it works......P.S. the car ran at 10:1 air/fuel ratio when i drove it down the street to the shop....sucked! i didnt hurt my engine in some way did i? i hope not.

Long as there was no warping of the head or extreme wear on the rings from it over heating, it sounds like you will be fine. The rich A/F ratio isn't going to do any real damage unless you left it like that for a LONG time. It is washing down the cyl walls with fuel a little but not so bad that down the block is going to kill the engine or anything.
