I am getting a quaife, but since im in there, i want to make sure everything else will be able to handle the abuse

I will be running slicks(obviously, since im replacing the weak ass stock diff with an unbreakable quaife) i want to take full advantage of all the traction i can get

I will be runing 23.5x8 or so slicks and launching hard

Other then the diff, what else should i think about upgrading?

What about 1st gear? Since the slicks and launch will put lots of stress on it, has anyone ever broken a first gear from hard launches? if so, what are my options?

What about the ring gear that goes around the quaife diff, it has to be reused, is this strong enough to handle the launch???

I will be runing no more then about 300-350whp on race gas, so i want to make sure i can put the power down safely without breaking anything and still get constistant 1.8 60fts

Im tired of AWD having all the fun and FWD barely getting out of the 14's...its time for things to change :thumb:

Maybe the CV shafts, with some new ones from raxles.com or Fidanza. Also, if you can afford it, get a Shep tranny rebuild. You can do it now or later. Either way, with 350WHP, it will eventually need to be done. It's only a matter of time. Also, he didnt charge any extra to install my Quaife.

I think you should be more worried about 2nd gear. 2nd seems to take the most abuse. Actually, in 99, I think they came double syncro'd from the factory. You shouldn't have to worry about that.

I've never heard of people needing to upgrade the ring gear around the diff. It seems to hold it's own in many high HP applications.

If you're looking for a deal on some M/T or Hoosier slicks, PM me.
