I havent really been much of an active member on here, but i've done a ton of research and i decided to build my 97 TSi (FWD) and was just looking opinions on my plans. I'm only 17 so im sort of on a budget but i have no problem waiting a little longer to save up money to do it right.

In the car already i have an ACT 2100 with a street disc, an ACT Flywheel,HKS SSQV,Intake,Wideband,Boost gauge, and an oil pressure gauge. My goal is 275-300 hp (all this of course after i do my timing belt, balance shaft belt, tensioner, pulley and water pump) Feel free to give me suggestions or opinions.

-3" Megan racing downpipe (catless) and SRS catback
-Flashed ECU
-Evoscan
-Evo3 16g
-Walbro 255 lph fuel pump
-Afpr
-PTE 880cc injectors (was going to go for 780 cc but 880's cost the same)
-PR FMIC kit

All suggestions are very appreciated, Thanks!

That will be really good, your injectors would be overkill and you could buy a new evo316g for the price of a new small 16g imo but thats a good setup. I would go PTE680's like me haha

Once you get the power a front sway bar will make the suspension tighter and will help with wheel spin so that wouldn't hurt either

Don't forget that you'll need a different oil feed line for the MHI turbo compared to the garrett as well as a J- Pipe. The PR front mount is awesome and comes with the J-Pipe. That will be a very nice set up and similar to mine when it's done man. Good luck. You'll be able to make more hp than your goals too with the tools at your disposal which will be nice

I kind of thought the injectors were a little big but i figured they cost the same as the 780s that i was planning on getting and even the 680s (this is from stm) so i might as well go bigger. And the biggest problem with the E3 16g is wouldn't i need the evo 3 o2 sensor housing to fit on that? Im trying to save as much money as possible without cutting corners.

And i am aware of the oil feed line and all that, i just didn't bother ptting it on the list, but thank you anyway! Oh and i forgot to add i already have an HKS SSQV bov so i don't need to worry about the stock bov leaking

Save about $100 and go with an OEM 1g bov proven strong.
Its not really a "build", but more like your mod list.

And no, you do not need an e3 o2 housing to go with the e316g.

Oh, i could have sworn that i read that somewhere, But i will definetly consider a 1g bov, the HKS came with the car so no money was wasted there.

If thats the case, then why buy a 1g bov? :p
If i remember correctly, the e3 o2 housing is only good to help with boost creep, if you do get it be prepared to drop another $220 on an RRE downpipe. The flange is off by a couple degrees and requires a totally different aftermarket downpipe that up to my knowledge RRE is the only vendor to carry them.

Alright, so i think im going to go with the evo 3 16g and keep the stochh 02 sensor housing, if i have a problem with boost creep i can alway port the o2 sensor housing out for way cheaperr than the evo3 o2 sensorhousing and another downpipe. I will definetly rewire the fuel pump, but is a 190 lph pump enough to support my goals or should i spring the extra money for a 255 and afpr?

If you want to save some money on the exhuast, I'd go with an ebay SRS catback exhaust and a megan downpipe. That'll run you about 350-400 total, 250 for the catback and about 100-150 for the downpipe. All the reviews on it I've seen have been good, and I just installed the catback on my car and I'm waiting for the downpipe, so far I'm happy.

i was actually thinking about the srs catback, one of my friends has one on his wrx and loves it. I just said the megan racing catback because i have heard it on a dsm before and know it doesnt sound bad, Ive never heard the srs on a dsm. I dont want anything too ricey or fart can sounding

Sounds like that is what i am doing! and ed1380 Thanks for reminding me about the flashable ecu! i forgot and one is actually for sale right by be for $135 so that with the tatrix 2.0 openport and evo scan wil be alot cheaper than dsmlink

You also have the option of ceddymod. $150 for cable and $150 for flashable ecu.

more like $200 for the cable and like $80 for the ecu. atleast that's what i paid for all my stuff.

this is like running the same ecu as an evo or an STi, it's a standalone ecu, you can do all the same that dsmlink does.
