opinions on FMIC

i have an black 2g gsx and was wondering if people think a black FMIC is ricey. Im leaning toward getting a black one but if its considered ricey then i will stick with silver. Thanks for responses.

I have my FMIC anodized black and people don't even realize I have a FMIC. In my opinion that should be filed under sleeper, not ricer.

ive seen an anodized fmic on an evo IX and it looked amazing. I told myself when i could afford an FMIC that i would get a black one to match my car but i was worried id get labeled as a ricer.

I like the sleeper, stealthy, murder out look. Its similar to just looking stock instead of having a bunch of look at me! look at me! I want a ticket style.

Sleeper is so ###. Just get a standard one considering everyone always bitches about how bad street racing is what is the point of having a sleeper then? Sure you may want one for the "track" but we all know for most of you its the street.

Something seems "missing" when I see an obviously turbo car without a smile. That's just me, though.

While I really dislike the idea of street racing, I love the black FMIC's because they don't make your car stand out as much. I would rather be able to drive through town unnoticed than have everyone know that my car is modded which, around here, is like putting a big target on your car for idiots who want to race, vandals and law enforcement looking for illegal mods. Not that I would admit to having any .

I don't think any FMIC could ever be considered "ricey", no matter the color . but a black FMIC is definitely sleeper!

Yes, normal paint will restrict the cooling, but if the IC has been anodized it will actually make core the more efficient.

I anodized mine black but not to be a sleeper to street race, the damn cops see that thing from 2 miles out in oncoming traffic and have plenty of time to turn around and pull you over. I loved how it looked too, kept things a bit more "stock" appearing to the general public. Whatever it is, it definitely isn't rice I wouldn't think?

your car def looks sick. I think im going to buy an anodized black one... Im glad most people agree its sleeper instead of rice.

i've also decided to go with ETS since ive read all night that their kits allow you to keep your stock fog lights which is important to me

Yup what he said - I have black fmic, 20g, 264/272 cams and 2.3, awd conversion. Car looks 100% stock except for exhaust tip.

I think black is cool. Especially if your car is a sleeper and people don't realize it. I just got a silver one for my Maroon Talon and I think it looks good. I am not too worried about the sleeper look though

why is every stock radiator in the world black? wouldnt black paint increase water temp? "no" it makes NO differance on a intercooler either
