Opinions on Ebay Water/alch inj. kit from BECOOL

He does mention about the nozzle

ebay quote:
"You may notice another kit offering from a competitor on ebay. We offer the SAME exact nozzle providing a very fine atomized mist. However we provide the solenoid, which is a must have item, at no additional cost! There is no one size fits all tank. Just tap into your washer reservoir. If you need a tank, we have a 2.5 quart (add $20) or 6 quart (add $35)."

It looks like a good basic kit. Just like the cooling mist one. I say go for it if you are interested.

that's a shurflo pump. if you put the nozzle before the throttle body, you dont need a solenoid. the pump has a pretty good one. the pump, on sale, is about 40 bucks. aquamist nozzles are 20 bucks. hobbs switch is about 30 bucks. build your own.

it was alot cheaper than the coolingmist and came with everything needed. I went dual stage and got a 300 and 200 cc nozzles. Guys are EXTREMELY helpful in helping set it up as the head guy is running it on his TSI. Good pump, everything works good. Best method I found for figuring out the pressure that the switch opens at is I leave the hose unconnected with a paper towel wrapped around it and get it up to 5 lbs say and pop the hood, if it's wet then I adjust it a little more more and a little more to see when it's not wet and set it there for 6-7 lbs. It's a good deal if you ask me. By the time you spend all the $$ shipping and all that, have to buy wire and connectors (unless you already have all that) then I say buy the kit. Mine was dual stage and I had it in 3 days at $263 out the door. I'm running blue washer fluid through it with an inline filter out of a 5 gallon gas can I got at home depot for $5.00. I am looking into getting an 8 gallon fuel cell if I can get one cheap enough and mounting it in the hatch area. I drilled and tapped the bottom of the can with a brass nozzle and ran nylon tubing under the trim out the firewall, works great and this way it's not subject to the same heat the motor is always under. These pumps (not sure if all do) have a built in regulator so that if the switch is open and line clogged the pump wont try to keep pumping and pumping, it will basically just about shut itself down. Comes with all instructions and I can also help you more with install. I'll take pics later also if you guys want.

you will also be happy to know that the blue windshield washer fluid DONT have distilled water in it. i stopped using it because it clogged up my filter with all kinds of deposits. shurflo does not recommend the pump for flammable liquids, which methanol is. run a wire to the pump power, and into the car, attach to a small lite. when the pump is on, the lite will be, too. then you will know EXACTLY when the pump comes on, if you have a good boost gauge.

just using a normal inline water filter for like a refrigerator? Or just using a fuel filter from an auto parts store?

denatured alcohol can be had from any hardware store. look in the paint thinner section. it is mostly methanol, with acetone added so if you drink it, you go blind. if it was drinkable, they would slap a liquor tax on it.
for my filter, i use one of those clear glass fuel filters, with the diatomaceous filter. also, i ONLY use distilled water.

Actually a better way to see if the water is injecting is to run another pressure switch connected to a light that is inline with a TEE in the actual water line.
When the line is pressurized, the light will turn on.

I got my kit from coolingmist.com, and I can't say enough about the customer service and tech help.
The guy's always on AIM and answers all questions right away.

The coolingmist base single stage kit only has a 60psi pump! i guess the real question is: is it worth getting a 140psi pump or does a 100psi work just as well?

funny, i just ordered this kit

also, it says its methanol ready, so why would the pump not be methanol safe???

our kits are true 100 psi pumps. Many of our competitors buy the 60 psi pump and adjust it to 140 using hex wrench. Our basic kit that comes with 60 psi can be adjusted to 140 easy. Or for $45 extra you can get the 100 psi pump.

Our kit at $239 is priced higher than the competition for a reason.

1) we offer a 90 day warranty.
2) our deluxe kit includes a led, on off switch, more hose, choice of color hose.
3) we have many options that the competitor doesn't. (water filters, clog nozzle detectors, etc).

Also, we pay money to this forum every month to support it.

David
