Alright so i got the rebuilt head completely put on, was gunna set the timing so i took off the covers and the belts and started to turn the crankshaft pulley AND i noticed coolant dripping from somewhere. Couldnt find it, couldnt find it. So i figured i screwed something up on the HG so i took the entire head off again. Everything. Looked around and still couldnt find it. So i searched under the car again, finally found it.

Its under the pulley in the middle of the engine at the top. I beleive it hooks up to the power steering pump and another component. Its the very middle pulley when looking from top of the engine. Not sure the name but underneath it, there is a little hole and that hole is leaking water/coolant. No idea why, or what the hole is for. No threads in it of any kind that i can see, its just a hole but definetly a hole that came factory. Any ideas at all?????

That is your water pump. The little hole is called a seep hole and if there is coolant coming out it usely means that the pump is bad. Hope this helps.

After seeing yalls post, and looking at Oreillys water pump, its the weep hole leaking. So i guess a new water pump in the near future?

Damn though, yall really do know yalls stuff

I'd do in now not later or on the side of the road but thats your call. And as a side note always change the water pump when you do the timing belt as it should have been replaced when the head was off.

Considering you just rebuilt the head, i would suggest replacing the water pump now since it is failing. If you dont you will be redoing all this again very soon, and an extra $35-100 now isn't worth the several hundred, and the headache it will cost you later.

+1 on the replace it now. To do all this work and not replace the water pump is just about asking for trouble. It's worth the extra 80 buck or so.

definitely the water pump. also while your at it change out all the timing componets INCLUDING your balance shaft belt under the timing belt. if that little belt goes it usually gets lodged in your timing belt.

The leaking coolant might be coming from the alternator bracket bolt. I don't know if you have everything put together back already but it's worth a look.
