One headlight doesnt pop up.

Head lights worked fine on the way to work this morning. After work turned on the headlights. The passenger side poped up but the driver side doesnt. There was a little bit of ice on it bit I dont think it would of done anything.

You can just grab the headlight and move it up and down as much as you want. You can see the red knob turn when you turn the lights on (I believe that is the motor). You can hear the motor turn on too. The head light doesn't turn on even if you hold up the headlight with the lights on.

I thought that pop up head lights were vaccume opperated so if there was a problem with the headlights they would stay poped up. Thats why I don't think its anything with the motor. Maybe its some kind of gear or something? I have no idea.

check the small arm that goes from the motor to the headlight bucket. the plastic clips on each end get weak over time and wear out how they clip on. should be pretty simple to find a new one at most local parts stores or body shop materal stores-they usually have good selections of things like that. just make sure you match them correctly, they are not the same on both sides-one is standard thread and one left handed and they are 2 different colors but i can't remember which one is black and which white.

forgot to mention they are not vacuum operated either. that is the motor with the red cap on it, its electric only. and its easier to see the connecting rod from the headlight to the motor if you remove the marker lenses on the side you are working on-should just be phillips screws.
