ok i just installed a blow through setup with the gm maf and maft. now my right headlight wont come up, its on but wont pop up. i had my friend get in and turn the lights on and off while i was looking around and im hearing a kind of clicking noise coming from the maft. not sure what to do. any helps appreciated.

hmmm that sucks because my intake barely fit in there in the first place i dont know if ill be able to move it much. what do you mean by the PS corner? thanks for the quick help!

Passenger Side.

I'd loosen the intake clamps and gently "tweek" it out ans away from the point of interfearance.. then tighten the clamps back down.

I've got a PVC cold air intake that exits out of an enlarged UIP hole in the PS firewall that interfears with my popups.. works for me :thumb:

An answer rather than a question:

Short:
Spray wd-40 all over it.

Long:
At first my right light would sometimes go up and down, and other days would stay up, or stay down. Then it remained locked in the up position. I used the manual screw to put it down, but it took alot of force/effort to get it to go. Then I cranked it all the way back up. And proceeded to drive around with them always up (day or night) , not a cool look btw

So i guessed it was a seized motor.
Read all the threads here on it. Consulted my DSM Manual CD., and began taking apart the light to get at the motor to check for continuity etc, in case it was electrical.

Then I noticed that the arm connecting the motor to the assembly was no longer connected. When I pressed the switch in the car the motor worked, and the arm moved (while not connected). So I connected it back up, problem solved, except of course it didn't move.

Turns out the reason it was so hard to move manually etc was that the assembly itself was seized. 1/4 can of WD40 later, and it was working fine.

The arm couldn't push the assembly, so the light wouldn't go up or down sometimes. Then finally it must have popped off for good.

You will know tis is the problem if it is very hard to move the headlight up/down with the red knob. If it's easy you have an electrical, or motor issue.

I currently own a 91 Plymouth Laser and the left popup headlight will go up, but not down. Even though this isnt very serious, what would cause it to do this? Thanks.

I just sprayed WD40 on all the moving parts of the headlight and now it works perfectly! You're a genius. I believe the motor was getting rusty or something. Where should I spray every once in a while to keep it working fine?

there should be about a 5" arm that connects the headlight to the motor just lube the pivot points every so often, or take the arm off and grease the pivot points and you shouldnt have to worry about it for a long time

where is the arm located at im having issues with my lights also, i turned what i thought was the manual switch its a red knob with a rubber cap covering it is this it? please give some info on where the arm is so i can close my lights, my motor must work fine ### when i push the button it make the noise of it trying to move the lights any info would be awesome thanks so much

So i have the flip up lights on my 1g and i was messing under the hood with the headlights up and i lean on one of the and broke it. What do i need to buy/replace i can just lift the headlight up and it falls down

IS the conecting link from the motor to the bucket broke?

There are to white plastic clips that come off some what easy. Check those if they are broken you have to get new ones if they are still conected you need a new motor. I have a few extra part laying around if you need any PM me.

Edit: The clips can pop off just so you know.

When you turn the switch on, do you hear the headlight motor working? If so, most likely is the linkage broken or popped off.

I thought one side is white the other is black.

It's a white rod that connects from the motor to the headlight assembly..You can't miss it. Just look closely.

Hey I'm having trouble finding a replacement part for my head lights. The linkage, or rod that connect motor to lamp assembly. I found replacement ones before but now I can't find anything.

Edit: never mind, found the part number and thought I'd post it just in case someone sees the tread and needs it. MB606225
