Ok, got a +48 offset 18x7.5 wheel. Extremly good deal so I'm just asking if these wheels will fit. No "just get a +42" suggestions please :D

Will if fit? W/ or wo/ a 5mm spacer and what tire width is recommended?

I'd like a 225/40 for width and I don't want a 35 sidewall if possible. I'm willing to go with a 225/35 or a *gasp* 215/25 but I'd rather not.

225/40/18's should be fine, assuming they are actually 18" wheels.

Well the only other ADR 18s I had measured 19.5" tall and about 8.5" across with a measuring tape even though they were sold as 18X7.5 It that common?

Thanks for the link Flash. That calculater makes me want to not risk it and just get some 215s.

Well being that the stock offset is 46mm on a smaller rim I'd say that a wider rim and tire combo will not work with a 48mm offset.

With a 5mm spacer you should be fine. Wheel bearing stress won't be an issue anymore so than if you were running a 43mm offset rim. You will probably want longer wheel studs though. RRE sells some.

Any idea how much space there is between the rear tire and knuckle on a stock 2g? I didn't think so. Depending on your tires type and wear, it's about 20mm. This sounds like a lot but it's not. It's enough though to fit a tire that is 10 mm wider and 5mm taller with a few millimeters to spare.

Some of us have trying to take the mystery out of DSM tire fitment. Please don't add to it.

Cool thanks for the info. I'm probably not going to get them now, I'm going to get a SBR manifold and replace my cracked bumper. I just bought new falkens for my stockers anyways.

Thanks for the knowlege though!

I made that post based on info I have read over time on the DSM AutoX list and through reading the wheel offset and width faq and wheel fitment faq found through www.vfaq.com . :thumb:

Don't mean to jump down your throat. There's nothing wrong with opinion, just be sure to stress that is just that. 98spydert was ready to base his decision on your word.

Well...You measured wrong. You probably measured the face diameter and the outside width.

Wheels are measued by where the bead's of the tire seat.
