soooo cheap! So I need tires and suspension now. Was going to go with the Tokico kit on ebay but everyone is saying 1.75" is too much and requires a camber kit. Would rather not get one. Should I get 215/45/17 or 225/45/17? I live in Michigan and Potholes can suck which is why i like 45's. SO what combo should I throw on the 95 TSI AWD? Any suggestions would be great! Thanks

If you don't want to have camber kits on your car then don't bother lowering it. I've heard of some people getting away with the eibach prokit without camber correction but really, why spend the money for 1 inch of lowering? Not really worth it nor is it that noticable.

OK so if I go with the Tociko Kit with the 1.75" drop then what camber kit works best? Also what tire would I need so I don't rub? 215/45 or 225/45? Thanks

I'd go with the 225's. You should still have plenty of clearance.

I used the eibach prokits, it lowered it ALOT more than I thought it would. So much so that I went back and verified the part numbers...unless the part#'s were actually stamped wrong on the springs themselves, then they're the right ones. Look in my gallery to see how low it put it. Even with the prokit, the camber was off AT LEAST a full degree on all four. Fortunately my dad was the wheel alignment tech so he was patient with me to try and get it right. Btw, instead of getting the full front alignment adjustment kit, I used the adjustable upper ball joints. About the same price, but a HELLUVA lot easier to install and adjust.

Looks like everyone is saying no to the Tokico kit as it lowers the car too much....so what is a comparible setup in the 300-400 range?

The tokico kit lowers it a great amount. Whoever is telling you that it is too much is wrong. If you go 1.75" i would say that is about a perfect drop for our cars. It won't be too low to scrape all the time and yet it will get rid of a good portion of your fender gap. Most the people on this site go with a 1.5-2" drop from what i've read.

A 1" drop is definetly noticable. I have the tokico kit, which has different springs depending on if the car is awd or fwd. The springs with the awd kit suck in my opinion. Way to soft. way to much of a drop in the front. not enough in the back.

There are a lot of comparable setups in the 300-400 dollar range the only problem is that all those setups are cheap and have the same problems. your going to be looking at 700 or 800 for a decent set of shocks with coilovers. or you could get the eibach springs which don't have the huge drop but are still progressive. but the eibach tokico setup is still 600 -700.

Looks like plan is 225/45/17 tires, Tokico kit...now my only problem is Camber.

After several searches I found that the rear can be home depot'd so to speak. Should I buy a real front kit? Which One?
