hello guys!!, hope you can give a piece of advise to me again.
last friday as I am driving normally I have noticed that my temperature is rising so I switch off my AC thinking it will help but still it slowly goes up when I see that it is almost 3/4 and a quarter before it reaches the red mark i pulled over and switched off the engine. I sat down and cool the engine for about 30 mins. I open the bonnet and noticed that i have a leak on my upper radiator hose on the side of the clamp. (old hose + clamp is too tight). so I temporarily adjust it and boom it is ok. I refill it half with water and half coolant. and so I run well again. whole saturday i did not use the car as I look for another hose to replace it(new). and i got lucky to find one in the mitsubishi dealer here in dubai.
and so I fixed it saturday night and i am happy then.
then sunday came, I went to my friends shop about 15-20km from my place for I am looking for a nice stereo. then when i got home I am fizzled to check again the hose if it is leaking or what. luckily it turned to be ok. then something strikes me to check my oil dipstick. and what i found out is that I my oil is below the minimum. I was worried and rush to go to a oil shop to by a gallon of oil. then what I did i refill it by myself and mistakenly got some oil spill on the top cover of the engine.going to the spark plugs.
and also I havent notice that I over filled the oil.
so what i did i went to an oil shop and have the excess to be drained. now its ok.
Here is my question.
1.) is it possible that my oil were burned when i have overheated? since before i dont have problem with my oil. (no leaks can be seen nor smokes coming in my exhaust)
2.) that spill in the top cover is it harmful?
*note im only using this car during weekends only. by the time it overheats and temporarily fix the hose i just drove it for about 20 - 25 kms.
need your help maybe there are still some parts to be checked. i test drive it last night for about 5 kms. and it ran fine. what do u think guys?
