I'm really considering it, even though it's a hassle. There's really no reason a new pump should be stained, nicked and scratched like that. Makes me question its history.
If I had 250 bucks I'd break down and buy a Mitsu one, but since I'm broke I'll settle for the Hyundai. I guess Hyundais are not dropping every 10k miles with oil pump failure, so it should work... I just prefer the mitsu design. Feels like it's made better, with a nicer casting, bronze bushings, etc. I also like the idea of straight cut gears better since the helicals will load against the side of the housing and presumably wear more.
