oil pressure light

so i did a search and couldnt find anything to help me, i drove my car today for about 4 hours straight and when i pulled back into my house i noticed that my car was idleing at like 500-600 rpms and the oil pressure light kept flickering, when i pressed the peddle it whent away. when the car goes back to idle in like a minuite it shows back up....could this be from the low idle? i checked my oil and it's between the 2 notches. should i add more oil? or is my car just dumb?

Just raise your idle up some more - pressure is way low at 600rpm. And/or you could try a different (better) brand oil filter or try replacing the oil pressure switch (if you think it's getting bad).

Yeah, replace that oil light sender. And get you idle up to the spec 750.

mine did that a last week, i checked the oil, it was low a bit, i added some, but did't fix the problem. So i said i think its do for an oil change, changed the oil, went from mobil one to valvoline, got the same oil filter, (k&n) and bam , no oil light. But check your oil light sender/pressure switch.

yea i whent and got my oil changed and now it dont turn on. im gunna get a new switch prolly and raise my idle, thanks for the help
