Oil pressure light on with normal oil pressure?

I researched on this a while back but never found a sloid answer.
My oil pressure light is on most the time. Every once and a while it goes off for a min or two.
So i bought and installed a manual oil pressure gauge. It reads around 55 when cold and drops to 10 or 11 when fully warm. It fluctuates as i drive or rev the engine.
This is my 3rd 1g turbo and the stock oil pressure gauge act just like the ones in my last cars did.

Is it safe for me to drive it? Is it just the sensors by the oil filter? It ticks a lil when first starting up untill warm then it sounds great but it's been doing that for a year and has not seemed to get any worse.

Mods: 2gmaf, injen intake, 3"exhaust and DP, ecmlink v3, mbc 12lbs boost, fpr.

Down on your oil filter housing there is a stock oil pressure sender, for the stock oil pressure gauge, and an oil pressure swith which activates the light on the dash. Sounds like I would replace the oil pressure switch and see what happens. The tick you hear on start up is probably just the lifters.
