Oil pressure light flickering, but guage reading fine????

Ok guys I got one for you... First off I'm not a newbie to DSM's (on my 3rd 1g over 4 years). I just got through about 2 weeks ago rebuilding my 4g63 (stock rebuild with Beck/Arnley Pistons and rings which are actually really nice pieces). About 3 days ago I noticed my Oil pressure light flickering when I first started moving (its a little bumpy as I put a 6-puck in and as you know, they chatter when feathering) and sometimes when I'm just working my way up throught the rev range in the lower gears. I'm stumped because the oil pressure guage is reading fine, and I even hooked up a mechanical oil pressure guage to just be sure.
Is there another pressure sensor somewhere besides the one in the filter housing? I'm stumped... Please help

that actually happened to me once. I have an automatic and when the revs are low(computer's shot) the light flickers as if the cars ready to stall. are you driving at instanely low rpms?(500?)

I'd bet your stock sender's toast. Since you run a mechanical gauge, I would trust it, but replacing the sender will get rid of the annoying flashing light. Before you order one, check the wires to the sender to make sure one isn't loose and causing your light to flicker.

I had the same problem.

The dummy light sender's wire was broken and fineally it fell off.
