Oil pressure guage

Finally got the turbo in. I ran the -4 off the ofh like pte said. I searched and made sure I got the right port. The lower one for a '90 ofh. Im running a mechanical oil pressure guage plumbed off the upper port. But Its not working now. Is the new feed line conflicting? Or did I perhaps pinch the line during the install? On start up the guage used to approch 70 psi. Today it sat still then almost clicked to 15 psi and sat there. When I killed the engine it returned back to 0.

You can see the guage line on the top left and the turbo line right inbetween the cooler lines.

Where you have tapped for the mechanical gauge is along the same "port" as the factory big brass bell oil gauge sensor and is well before where you've tapped for the feed line. Your pressure reading shouldn't be affected at that point.

So possibly a kink?

Possibly. Or a faulty gauge. Or it's actually reading correctly and you have low oil pressure.

I'd check for kinks first and foremost.

Oil pressure does not change what so ever with rpm change. It just jumps to 15psi and sits. The guage makes alot of noise. It like whines. But it worked till I threw the turbo in.

I would just say try a new gauge, if the line was kinked i would think it would do nothing at all. How old is the gauge?
