Ok.. We have finally pinpointed the location of the oil leak. Its between the head and the block and i believe its being caused because the head might not have been tourqed down correctly. If this is the case can i buy some new head bolt and redo it the way its suposed to be done or do i need to just pull the head and have it resurfaced and all that stuff. the car hasn't been running a very long time and went to the machine shop before it was installed so i don't know. But it flow oil its a steady drip when the car is in nuetral so im sure its squirting under load.

Its is a 1g head on a 7-bolt block..

Well I need an anwser for this question because i have to take the car back to the shop tomorrow and give them an anwser to if this will work or not. So if anyone has any idea could you let me know.

If you just had the head resurfaced at the machine shop and you didnt overheat the engine at all then the head should be fine and all you should need will be a head gasket and all new head bolts. But if you did overheat then you will probably be looking at a resurface. I dont understand why you should have to give them an answer now they should check the head with a straight edge when they have it all apart to do the head gasket and then it should be determined if they want an answer now on everything you want done before they even check to see if it needs to be resurfaced then you should probably look for another machine shop b/c they are not doing there job.

Well I would say that it was the shop that put it on if anything because they got the timing wrong when the motor wasn't even in the car. How difficult is it to remove the head?

Removing the head is pretty easy. But dont take that the wrong way. It is very, very time consuming. But pretty self explanitory. Ive had mine off my galant twice, and the talons is about to come off.

Run by autozone and get a manual for it, they are very, very helpful.

If you have any questions, feel free to PM me or reply here.

With a little bit if determination and the right tools, it's not too hard. A tip: don't bother trying to take the intake manifold off when you remove the head, the bolts are very hard to get to, and it's a lot easier once you have the head taken off.

the head bolts are I believe a 10mm allen head. They could be 8mm though. Try to get 1/2in drive ones.

masking tape/ziplocs/sharpies will be your best friend. Label EVERYTHING you disconnect and put all bolts and nuts into seperate labeled ziplocs. This makes life alot easier when reassembing.

if you have a digital camera, take lots of pictures while you disassemble to ease in figuring out where all the hoses connect.

The ones ive done are n/a 4gs, so someone else can chime in about that side of it.

all in all its pretty self explanitory, jut look for everything attached and detach it.
