Ok, I've searched 1000+ threads for information and tried various solutions on my own, without success.
92 TSi with basic bolt-on's
I, like many others have multiple oil leaks, the main one is the oil return line and there also appears to be another small one at the oil filter housing. I'm not worried about these at the moment as they are small and mostly non-threatening. However, I have recently discovered another leak and this one is bad. While driving and primarily under boost, there is oil spraying on the cam gears and the all over the engine bay from the egg-beater action. After a driving session I find a distinct "line" of oil on the bottom surface of the hood, also there is oil running down the belt assembly and of course all over my timing belt. I have a new VC casket that was siliconed and a new head gasket.
So far, I have retorqued the VC, the oil pan bolts and checked the torque on the head which was correct. I added the UV dye to my oil and it appears that the 4 galley plugs on the head are leaking under pressure, I tried to tighten them but they were as tight as could be. My question is this... Was there originally any type of sealant on these plugs? If so, is it possible that it has "rotted" or "blown out" over the years? Finally, at full boost my oil pressure gauge is pegged at over 100 psi(with balance shafts in!) would this be considered "excessive" pressure and if so, could it be the issue as opposed to the plugs themselves.
Thanks in advance for any information or solutions that can be offered.
Aloha
