I seem to have a constant oil problem. I recently replaced the stock feed line with a RRE filter housing feed line and noticed a increase in oil presure under normal driving conditions, before it used to idle at the first hash mark, now it idles in between the first and second. When I hit boost for any longer then 5 seconds it shoots over to the 2nd mark. I havent pounded since I installed the thing as I am afraid to ruin anything. I have noticed that the stock feed location has popped a 'minor' leak, I plugged it with the bolt (Came with 2 crush washers but I dont see how they would do anything since there is no more banjo bolt) but, I dunno.

I also removed the spring from the PCV valve and am running it and the valve cover breather to a catch can, with the Intake snorkle and Manifold plugged up. Could this also be a factor or and I over reacting and is all this normal? will the higher pressure hurt anything?

high pressure is better than low pressure. When you replaced the line you probably fixed a small leak, hence the gain in pressure. The pcv valve mod does not effect oil pressure. The increase in pressure when you hit boost is simply because you are reving higher, te oil pump is turning faster, creating greater flow, with the same amount of resistance.
From what you mentioned, I don't think you have a problem, you just fixed one.:thumb:

Don't let oil pressure drop, it protects the bearings.

Just wanted to make sure, better safe then sorry:thumb: . For the small leak in the stock location, can I use white teflon tape on the bolt? or would the head get to hot?

If that bolt is seating against the head, put a copper gasket under it. You shouldn't need to seal the threads, you want to seal underneath the bolt head.

You should also unfuk the PCV valve, it does nothing to hurt performance and its removal does nothing to improve performance.

Don't place a lot of value in the specific position of the factory oil pressure needle. If you need more information than "enough" oil pressure (as an idiot light will give you), get a gauge that costs more than fifty bucks. There's a reason the factory gauges don't have numbers on them. Unfortunately, they're not pretty reasons.

Would a crush washer do the job? I know that the gauge shouldnt be used for any purpose other then observation I was just curious as to why I say such a dramatic change in the actual pressure

well..in that case..where should the oil pressure be at idle??? mine almost goes all the way down. but goes up again when it sees r's

I believe the ideal place for most sotck cars would be the first mark at idle and the second mark after redline. However i tihnk the pressure can increase or decrease with modifications (SS feed in this case) and would decrease with major oil leaks, or low oil.

The kit came with 2 crush washers, would one between the head and bolt do the job?

when you say "the first mark" do u mean the first notch on the gauge (almost in the middle) or the first mark period? i do have a ss oil feed line coming from my oil filter housing. and the one in the head is completely sealed.

After my car warms up really go at idle my gauge very low pressure.
Theres the top mark, middle mark, and bottom mark. It sits between the middle and bottom mark at idle but when im driving at say 2k its right at the middle mark.

its different for 1gs, there is only 2 marks. When I say first mark I mean it should be close (either more or less) to the first mark, doesnt have to be directly on it
