Ok, I have a leak coming from between the compressor and exhaust housing on my turbo. I had it rebuilt but that was a good while ago but only has around 8k on it. The thing is I have no smoke during idle or boost and there is no oil in the intake side at all. There is barely any if any shaft play in/out and up/down.

Now if i just warm up the car and rev it a bit, ill get maybe 2 to 4 drops of oil and thats it. If i drive it and boost it a bit more I get maybe 8-10 drops of oil. Any thoughts or ideas?

if you had the turbo rebuilt i would be looking at who rebuilt it. im a technician, if a get a return order like that i dont get paid to re-fix it. . another thought, try tightening up the bolts on your housing.

It sounds like an oil line if its coming from in between the compressor and exhaust housings. Make sure they're both tight. Did you use new crush washers for the banjos when you you re-installed it? They can not be used twice. Also, did you put a new gasket on the return line?

The oil lines were brand new when i put them on. However its not the feed line as its clean and dry from the head to the top of the turbo itself. The leak is coming form the clamp on the turbine housing where it meets the exhaust side. Could this clamp be loose? It was rebuild a while ago, maybe a year+ but has roughly 8k on it since the car was living on jackstands more than the tires.

Try tightening the clamp. If it doesn't help, it looks like you're going to have to take the turbo out and check it.

Im bout ready to kill this car. Ok i warmed it up and cleaned off all of the oil. Now I dont see a leak anywhere. There isnt a consistant leak on the turbo, atleast one that could cause the drops I got. However the drops are too far to the front for me to think its the oil pan gasket. My father thinks differently however. While there is a good amount of oil around the entire pan it doesnt appear to be coming from there. Ill replace the gasket/seal around the pan and take it for a drive and see if that helps. Thanks guys. If the turbo is shot yeah its time to be replaced.
