oil leak from block?

I'm stumped here guys. From the rear of the block, I'm spraying oil. Moving from drivers side in, its coming from the first hole inside of the ac compressor mount holes, lowest part of block. Looked on my parts car, and there's nothing in it. Looked at two other blocks and the same. This is the last problem (i hope) before the car drives. Anyone?

Btw, its a 6 bolt.

You are probably missing the rear balance shaft alignment hole bolt.

i believe there is an oil galley plug that needs to be there. by removing it you have created a hole in the block

There are no oil galley plugs in the back of the block.

You are probably missing the rear balance shaft alignment hole bolt.

He said a hole by the ac pump. Isn't te balance shaft inspection hole beside the starter? Given oil leaks tend to get everywhere regardless.

Nevertheless I agree that it is probably the balance shaft inspection hole that is leaking. The only thing I know of that can leak on the back of te block it that hole, vc, knock sensor, and oil pan.

Good luck oil leaks are by far the worst thing to fix, once you get one squared away another one pops up .

its possible someone threaded a longer bolt in and broke the block also. its messy but i would try to get some pics of the area

There is no drill hole for the rear balance shaft bearing. There is not an oil passage that goes to the rear shaft bearing in the block. The oil for the rear shaft comes thru the shaft from the oil pump. And also the balance shaft check plug is right below the ac bracket.

gotcha bryan. i thought that was where the sight plug was as shown by the random hole thread.

i know i plugged every unused hole on my block just for this reason of finding leaks

I am 99.9% sure its the same hole from the random hole thread. I got the bolt suggested in the thread. It's 20mm, so I'm going to cut it a bit and report back. Thanks guys. With any luck, it'll be driving tomorrow.
