Ok so I have 800 miles on my rebuilt engine. Everything has been dandy. Now lately ive noticed some oil spots on my drive way. The oil is dripping off the lower radiator hose. Ive traced it all the way back to the waterpipe going acrossed the front of the block. It apears as if its coming from the head. I have a brand new cometic head gasket with arps both the block and the head were resurfaced in the rebuild. Torqued them in sequence with torque wrench 30 lbs at a time till I got to 100 flbs. Any idea or segestions?

Is the oil actually coming from between the block and the head or could it be leaking down from the valve cover. You could have damaged the valve cover seal when you installed it.

Have you looked under the timing cover is there any oil there?

Check the exhaust manifold is there oil along the bottom? Some of the exhaust manifold studs are threaded into oil passages on the head. I usually put a little thread tape on the stud and it fixes it rite up. The center stud is usually the source of the leak. Good luck!

There is no oil from the top of the valve cover to the bottom of the manifold. so no it cant be the valve cover gasket.

If what you sid is true that could very possibly be what the problem is. Im getting a new manifold soon so when I do ill check that out.

And when I put the 16g on I put all new washers on. I can see the turbo and its all dry no oil. Its still as clean as it was before I put it on.

Leaks are always a bi*** to find. The best way it to pick up a UV kit from your local parts store. Once you drop the dye in, drive around for a bit and then come back and use the light to see your leak, they work surprisingly very well.
