just need an idea dont want to just rip the head off and send it in when its brand new according to last owner.
to start got the car looking like the supra on the tow truck in the first fast and furious.
the motor was built by devo tunning in IL talked to adam there and was confirmed. motor has never been drove runs though. start it up to take it to be tuned and it starts smoking bad i mean cant see the car bad. shut it off and look there is oil just poring out of hot side of turbo, i think turbo is junk. bought brand new one put it on and same dang thing now turbo isnt a cheep ebay one its 50 trim precision. now i am stumped so i run it again now notice oil is coming out at flange where it connects to manifold, so i run it for 2-3 min then quick pull the exhaust manifold off the head and i have oil dripping out of cylinder 1&3. now this is my first dsm let alone tuner car but have been a mechanic for 10 plus years, built dirt track cars and others. i have my ideas what it could be but want to hear some others, because i mean this car ran in the shop on a rack many times as long as up to half hour even gone through the gears on the rack a couple of times with not even a puff from spilled oil then this just out of the blue. any ideas would be much appreciated.:banghead:

thats what i think. some one said reversed head gasket but then you would think it would do it right away

Oil coming out of the ports? Safe bet that the valveguides are shot.
Is that the same term as VSS [Valve Stem Seals]? That would've been my guess.

well that confirms what i thought looks like head has to come off thanks. will post what i find just might be a bit dont have much time right now

was not aware i didnt have to pull the head my first dsm thanks i might even do it this weekend. but then got to learn about tuning and safc

Valve seals attach to the top of the valve guides. Valve guides also go bad and are more difficult to replace, i.e., machine shop.

Valve stem seals will explain burning some oil, but not oil "pouring out".

Very nice explanation sir.

well i did the seals and that fixed it. it does how ever smoke a little. think i am going to send the head in after i get it to run better for a bit. this car is starting to grow on me thanks for all the help
ps watch for mor posts and when i get the body done on the car will post pics and am starting to go threw the mods to start listing them, i am very green to dsm and will most likely be looking for much needed help thanks a lot for the great tips
