BOV on hot side of IC?

I have heard about the problems you get from venting your BOV without an AFC. My friend told me there wouldn;t be a problem if you vented on the hot side of the IC. I'm pretty new to the whole turbo thing can anyone elaborate?

that doesn't make any sense. No matter where the BOV is, the computer accounts for that air so your car will still run like crap.

First off your friend is a knob...
Also an AFC, doesn't fix that problem either. You'll need either a HKS VPC (which they don't make anymore) or a Mass Translator.

You could try searching on the subject next time too.

BOV placement before the intercooler not only isn't any different in terms of venting, but has been known to cause additional problems. There is a reason aftermarket BOVs are still placed in stock location near the TB.
