ok so i had to replace the lower hose for the heater core yesterday so i removed the intake plumbing to get to it and noticed oil in my intake manifold

what could cause this and how do i fix it

thanx in advance for your help

check your pcv valve. It is made to release excess pressure and if it isnt working your oil has no other place to go but out the intake(path of least risistance).

Hey i might have a way to check if its the PCV valve and at the sametime keep the oil out of your Intake, my friend gave me this idea couple months ago and it worked, after the PCV Valve , i hooked in a Fuel filter before it went back into the intake plenum, it seems to be working too because that filter has collected some oil and kept it out of my intake, its not an excessive amount but there was some....the fuel filter i used was a cheap one from autozone thats clear plastic so you can see whats in it.... I'd figure i throw that out there , might help! :thumb: :dsm:

not a bad idea you had there. If you have some extra cash to burn you could pick up a catch can from the likes of Greddy and such (you could always make your own too) does pretty much the same thing as the filter method previously stated but it'll add a little bling to your engine bay :thumb:

did you have oil, or build up. You will have build up from that stupid EGR system. If you want a clean intake, get an EGR block off kit, take your manifold off and have it cleaned, and yes... make sure your PCV is working correctly.

Good points Snoop. Not to hi-jack the thread but how is the new engine? I've been busy so I haven't followed.

It rocks. Almost broken in... I can't wait to start pounding mustangs and cameros at the track!

Let me take this oppertunity to let everyone know how BIG OF A PILE OF SHIT the OBX intake manifold is. Took so much fabricating to get it to work. I had to weld the holes in the back closed, tap new ones on the bottom of the manifold, spend about 30 mins trying to jam the fuel injectors into the bungs, and the flange didn't line up.
