As stated in the title there is oil in the coolant and no coolant in the oil, this was with a new headgasket the head is off right now and I had it plained again. Is there anywhere else oil could be getting into the coolant? By the way the engine has the air cooled oil cooler so thats not a possibility. Oh and the oil pressure is good.

how is the condition of the turbo?
leaking seals may cause this perhaps.

check for play

Yeah I thought of this, I have the turbo out of the car right now too. Ive only pulled the hothalf off the turbo before to replace it with a non crcked one, Ive never completely disasembled it. Where are the turbo seals?

got www.vfaq.com
look under turbo

they have a sectoin on a rebuild. it shows step by step dissassemblage and lables all parts.
you cant replace the seals yourself, well you can buy a rebuild kit, for 125$ but you have to send it off to get it rebalenced, that cost like 200$ or so.

turbochargers.com charge 275$ for a complete rebuilt balence and everything, so its just as good to send it off.

Any other ideas about where where oil could be getting in the coolant? I want to know all the possibilities before I go ahead and reasemble the engine. Front cover maybe? or is that just oil galleys in there?

Well if it was the headgasket that should be fixed when I put it back together, however usually when you have a blown headgasket you will see coolant in the oil or coolant loss, or maybe steam in the exhaust. I had none of these symptoms. Basically just oil in the coolant. LordPaxin might be right about the turbo. I will have to look into it. Is their some way to test it?
