Pulled the trans last night to replace my clutch only to find my bell housing full of what looks like dried up oil. Input and output shafts look dry

And my rear main seal is dry as well.

So are the pressure plate, clutch, and flywheel.

The backside of the flywheel looks like something dripped down it at some point.

Starter plate and inspection cover had some crap all over it.

So its not coming from the seal and its not coming from the trans. Unless you guys see something I don't. Clutch disc looks shot so I know why it was slipping.

Not sure where all this dried up oil is coming from. My valve cover was leaking over the summer and I procrastinated changing so it made a mess of things. There is oil residue everywhere on coolant hoses, on wiring, etc. so it was leaking a good bit. I want to say more like "sweating" since my car never leaked any oil, not a single drop on my garage floor. Looks like most of it accumulated into the bell housing, but not sure if I should make that call. I'd hate to install this new clutch only to have to pull the trans again. Any ideas guys?

Look at the seal for the transfer case output shaft. Looks to be the issue to me, thing looks bad and like it has a crack. Actually I can see the tear in the seal from your first pic bro. :) I would replace all the seals while your at it and have it apart.

Yes that input shaft seal looks a bit dry rot and make sure there is no oil leaking from that hex plug you see there on the back of the block. That can leak too if it's loose those can be notorious for leaking oil as well, its a main plug to an oil gallery.

I noticed that, but wouldn't the actual shaft have some residue on it as well? I cleaned the bell housing last night, but didn't really inspect that seal too closely. I'll take a look at it tonight.

The hex plug is the 2nd thing I checked after realizing the main seal was fine. You can see in my pictures that it is dry.
