good day,

after install my prothane mounts the oil filter is unscrewing every time, what can i do?

i was thinking loctite, someone has this happened?

Its going to happen. Safety wire it to the block. Thats the only thing that works for me...

Also, make sure that the 'stud' that the oil filter screws onto is tq'ed to spec and red loctited.

I wouldn't loctite it. You'll have to be driving a screwdriver into it every time to get it off. Just get some mechanics wire and tack weld a piece to the filter housing and twist tie it off so it can't vibrate loose.
Do you still have the balance shafts in? Are they timed right?

I've actually never heard this before! I've got full mounts aswell and mine stays on perfectly and no leaks either! When you tighten it by hand turn it 1/4 and extra turn or a little more! When I change mine every 6 months its on there tight and is safe! You must not be tightening it up enough! That's all I can think of

i tight it more than common and it is unscrewing, i will try the safety wire.

Sorry if I sounded like I was disagreeing with you 97gst_spyder. What I was meaning was to not loctite the filter itself. Do you tack weld your safety wire to the filter? Just wondering how you have done it.

To safety wire you either use a K&N filter (like myself) or a hose clamp then wrap the wire around it.

As for the Loctite, use it on the end of the 'bolt' that goes inside the ofh. Make sure to have your cars front as high as you can get it so the oil will drain back into the oil pan. Use a lot of brake cleaner to get the oil out if the threads and then loctite it into place.

My vote is for the filter shaft itself being loose. My son had the same issue, left alot of oil on the road many times.

+1 on this, I've been running prothanes for over two years. I recently switched to OEM filters, before that I used K&N filters; always only hand tighten them on.

If you have excessive vibration at idle, try to up your idle to about a grand. That might help

the oil shaft is torqued at spec to. i have the normal vibrations my idle is 900 rpms, no bad vibrations, car runs good, i will check the oils filter shaft again.

Sounds like you cross threaded the oil filter "shaft." You might have to replace the oil filter housing.

**edit**

Actually now that I mentioned it, I would DEFINITELY replace the oil filter housing. It's around $75 and is worth not losing your motor over.

Mine did this with 2 different ofh and 2 different bolts. Neither were cross-threaded.
