Oil filter/screen on the turbo return tube?

Oh right guys main idea here is can you put a wire type mesh, "like on the oil pick up tube"on the turbo oil return tube.I ask because one of my journal bearings
from the turbo broke and found its way into my motor.At the time i thought the seals had went bad in the turbo. i seen smoke replaced the turbo went about two weeks before a massive knock started.It has been parked for a year and now i have a new motor to throw in but even if this is a 1 in 1,000
it would not hurt to make sure it don't happen again.

If the stock pickup screen didn't stop it what makes you think your return line screen would?

The odds of a complete journal bearing making it's way down the drain tube during any type of turbocharger failure are slim to none. The shaft would have to break or the journal bearing would have to split in half for this to be carried out.

There is no danger for the parts which would actually be laying in the bottom of the oil pan anyway. Simply drop the pan, clean out the mess, and reinstall the pan. There's no way a journal bearing or any other turbocharger internal part is small enough to travel uphill and through the oil pump screen regardless.
 
Like i said i found a half in the pan and the other half was in the block somewhere.Car ran good until the turbo went out.i know its a far fetched thing but paying for that repair has been costly.All i really need to know is say if it don't leak,will the oil be able to flow back down at the proper rate.
 
I don't know you could be right right i just know what i found when i opened the old block,and the old turbo.I'm not joking half of one of the two turbo bearing was in my oil pan .....with a lot of shaved metal.
other half is MIA.Opened the old turbo up tonight cause i thought that was what that looked liked,sure enough only one bearing in the turbo.its the one in the pic.i really wish i could find that half to put a picture up but my car is everywhere in the garage.On another note i did not go far in the block due to the fact i got a Powertorque crate engine,and was taking the core back that day before work.
