Well, i have my 6 bolt swapped into my 98 gsx, with the auto kiggly kit yadayada.

I was told by a well respected member i baught this engine from that the balance shafts were deleted and it has 2g pistons, front facing oil filter etc....

they are obviously deleted. rather the shafts are removed i am unsure, I've noticed since i got the car running the oil pressure stays rather low unless eccelerating and then it goes where it should be till you drop back down to an idle.

well long story short i have been watching it closely, and bam today all my preasure gone! instantly oil everywhere all over timing belt side of engine, pulled the cover off and wow what a mess.

I am unsure at the moment where the leak came from and it seems that my valve cover gasket is not the cultprit, neither is the oil filter..

best case scenerio would be......?

and worst case scenario would be.........?

I'm disgusted with this right now.

Not sure about the "best case scenario"...but the "worst case scenario" or more than likely what your going to have to do is a timing belt job if oil got on the timing belt and obviously find out where your burst happened.
Have you checked the cam seals?

i guess a incorrect bse and new timing belt is really the worst..... darn, that sucks. I'm to tired of problems,
It's raining sooooo no cleaning to get a better inspection today.

why does the timing belt have to be replaced? can it not be cleaned? it's almost brand new.
I may just say screw it and take it to a mechanic this time ....we'll see.

I'm going to go ahead and order a new timing belt and all the seals and gaskets i may need,

would i need and balance shaft seals since it's not their? I suspect no.

are their 2 different cam seals, i was looking to buy some more and the price is way different on 2 oem ones, aI'd like to make sure their are 2.

what else should i go ahead and order to hurry the fix process along?

Its possible you blew out the front crank seal, or possibly the castle nut O-ring. Timing belt will need to be replaced if it has oil on it because there is a good chance of it slipping. If you spray it with brake clean or any degreaser it will dry the rubber out and increase the chance of it breaking.

okay I have ordered, all oem:

timing belt,
camshaft oil seal,
oil pump shaft seal,
oil filter braket gasket,
oil pump front cover gasket,
front main crankshaft seal,
front case castle plug o ring,
front case castle plug,

I'm going to buy locally a felpro valve cover gasket, as I have never had an issue with them and they are only $21

is their anything else i may have missed?

ok leak aside,
is their anything that they could have done wrong when doing the bse on the oil pump, that would cause the low oil pressures i have been having before this happened?

it has the front facing mightymax oil filter setup as well, I am really stumped here.
I am leaning torward my castle nut being the culprit for the leak.

by chance would the 2g oil filter housing with the oil cooler work on the 1g pump?

If the bearings weren't turned to block off the oil galleys to the front balance shaft, you will lose a fair amount of pressure through there.

And no, you cannot use a 7-bolt oil filter housing on a 6-bolt front casing/oil pump.

thanks, i'll have to research this and see whats going on, I'm starting to think whoever did this isn't that good of a mechanic.
