Hey everyone, how should I install a oil catch can on my 1g. I have a GM maf-t and no nipple on intake tube, there is two fittings on the can i bought, thanks alot.:dsm:

You can either tap the intake for a nipple which I would recommend then run from the valve cover to can and can to intake pipe, or you can just run a hose from the valve cover to can and can back to valve cover but that requires you to tap the valve cover. There are some people that just run a filter on the nipple that comes out of the valve cover, I wouldn't recommend it though. You can also just run a hose from the valve cover to the can and a hose from the can just down to the ground if you would like. The ideal way is to route it into the intake pipe though and it would be very easy to just drill and tap it.

How does that help him? Did you read Rule #1?

Thanks man, yea I looked for a good hour on the forums and didnt find anything that was for 1g. I really didnt want to tap my piping. So if I run one hose to the 90 degree nipple off the vc and run the other to the ground your saying that this way would work to.

Not sure how much you are looking to spend but I am in the process of finishing mine. I have 2 90 degree -8 an fittings coming off the valve cover into an air tight catch can. Then 2 -8 lines running from the top of the catch can to the intake pipe.

I did this because I have heard of people running the lines into a vented catch can can mess with your fuel trims.

I figured i'd spend the extra cash on the braided line and fittings and the catch can itself is a pretty large receiver dryer from an AC system that I polished up.

It cost me a little over $100 for everything but it was much cheaper than buying a pre-made one with an fittings and I will never have to worry about messing with sloppy rubber lines again. I'm trying to do away with as many rubber lines as possible since they always seem to rot out on me.
Let me know if you'd like me to post pics.
