Oil and filter

Hello, this is my 1st DSM, but my all my buddies have had them and I have wanted one real bad for some time. I own a 2nd gen TSI AWD and I love it , it is great all the attention I get and how ppl are always checking out my car. No one man should beable to weild this type of power. hehehe I just wish I would have held out for a 5spd, but oh hell oh well something to look forward to buying.
I do have a question though: what would be the best oil and filter to use for a daily driver that would give the best protection? I ran this by my buddy and he said just valvine or a synthetic, but he was unspesific about the filter. So if I could just get some direction that would be great.

i use mobile synthetic and a mobile filter

There are ALOT of varrying opinions on this. I would say a synthetic oil and OEM filter. I have heard NAPA Gold are made by the same company as our OEM filers.
