This may not be impotant to alot of people but I just wanted to express myself. Recently my car came into contact with a large bump in the road, (apparantly I missed the 'BUMP AHEAD' sign and didn't slow down), and my idle goes to hell, surging, high idle and what not. Got it home and found my water injection line came loose. Put it back together and kind of fixed it but not like it was. To make a long story short I've always felt that my car required more than normal pressure to rev the engine. So I chaulked it up to a heavy flywheel but then after my car would get stuck at 4000 rpms I checked the throttle. What I found was that my throttle cable was frayed a little and probably for quite some time but became worse after the bump. It was so bad that it would not return itself inside the cable jacket. Went to the junkyard and found a galant with cruise control and replaced the cable and OMG:D !! My throttle response is so smooth and free revving it feels like a lightened flywheel which I'm glad I didn't get now. Man it feels totally like a new car just from the response. So if any of you feel resistance in your gas pedal, check that throttle cable out.

Congrats on thinking smart and finding the problem and the fix.

Have fun with that sucker,

Andy
