Well here's my story I just thought I would get some other opinions before i go through with any other actions just to make sure that I'm doing the right thing.

I have a 97 gsx eclipse that recently had a 6-bolt swap done. From the begininig. I was going to buy a jdm motor because my 7-bolt had spun a bearing at 165k. I bought the 6-bolt motor from a source that I was directed to By FIST. After purchasing the motor I was told that the crank needed to be machined and needed bearing gaskets and timing belt and to have a hole seald up where the balance shafts are so that oil would not leak out. So i get all of this stuff done. The people who built the motor took 4 months to do it and. So I get the car back in late december and the car runs a week or so to be exact 497 miles. Some of the problems that i had with the car after i got it back
1 it leaked coolant still working on this
2 it leaked gas I fixed
3 it overheated 3 times due to what ever reasons
4 some how the turbo came unbotled from the exhaust manifold. I don't know how also I'm now missing a bolt from there and before i had all four.
5 car breaks down and now doesn't work at all. have got to pull the motor

Anyway back to the story. I call the people who put the motor together and I am told that they will be here this weekend to have a look at the car and see whats going on.... Weekend comes no one shows up and recive no phone calls all weekend. So i get a call on monday. I am told "blah balh blah Will be there this weekend and get it fixed.... Weekend comes no one show and recive no phone calls and no calls all week. I have called this person and tried to get one of them to come over here to look at the car but it seems that there is always some excuse or they just don't anwser. So I ask for half of the money back to have it taken somewhere so i can get it fixed and they won't give it back. Not including the parts and motor and what not the labor was 1200 dollars. They got the motor in but now the car doesn't run. I've been told to take them to court if they don't anwser the calls or come and look at it and fix the car. What is your opinion?

I say demand your money back immediately, or that someone checks it out immediately or you will get the cops involved and pursue getting your money and time back in the court room.

Sometimes just the scare of court or the authorities can get them off their asses. If not, then look towards court

You need to be VERY clear on who did or did not do the work. By using my shops name in your post, it is making it appear that my shop had something to do with the assembly and installation of the motor when in fact we refused to work on your car and the motor at all after you wanted to re-use a lot of old parts on the motor. We never touched your car, supplied the parts, or assembled the motor. We refused to have anything to do with that motor or you as a customer because you wanted to cut corners and do it cheap. We would rather pass on the sale than not do it right, we will NOT cut corners when building a motor. The motor was another customers that we just happened to be storing it at the shop. The sale was between you and that individual, not having anything to do with my shop at all. The assembly and installation of that motor was done by another person that has noting to do with my shop as well.

I never said anything FIST doing the work on the car i just said that you refered me to the person who i bought the motor from. And He refered me to the other people

Let me see if I have this straight.....You are trying to get money from a shop that didn't do any work on your car? All they did was point you in a direction to purchase a motor and the person you purchased the motor from, referred you to a different shop for assembly and installation?

Did you pay the initial shop any money at all?

No I'm not trying to get money from the shop they are cool they just told me who to get the motor from:D . I'm wanting to get money back for the work they did because they won't even come and look and see what the problem is. Its been over 3 weeks now and I just don't have time to wait for them so i will go pay a shop somewhere else to fix what ever is wrong with the car. The two guys that worked on the car are individuals that said that they could do it because they have done this before on other cars. So at this point the car is dead:beatentodeath: and i'm only asking for half of it back the motor is in the car i just want someone else to rebuild it. 600 for build and 570 for install

Just get whoever did the work to either give you money or fix the problem. If they dont take them to small claims court.

Sounds like you went to a reputable shop, and they turned you away for the corners you wanted to cut. Then you found someone who would cut them for you, and expect it to be a "built" motor. Got what you paid for if you ask me!

Sounds about right to me too. Funny, talking smack on a shop and the shop owner gets into the forums and sets the story straight:nono:

He was not talking about that shop . He just failed to name anyone else . So it appears as if he is talking about the FIST guy . This should be in the hangout anyway . Why keep calling , go to shop . Was it even a shop . This has nothing to do with Black Majik , so why name him ? :nono: :nono:

I wasn't talking about the shop if you read the beging of this than you can see that the told me who to get the motor from. And thats all no more. The guy I bought the motor from he is the one who told me that they could do it because many people have gone to them and had good luck and they were friends of his so....
